Kelly Meinhart was one of the top players on a Rocket softball squad that set the pace in the Mid-American Conference in the 1980’s. She earned first-team All-MAC honors as a catcher in 1987 and as a designated hitter in 1988, as well as first-team All-Mideast Region in 1988. As a freshman, Meinhart was a member of the 1985 Rocket squad that went 44-23 and won the regular-season MAC Championship with a 16-2 league mark. The Rockets also took second place in the MAC in 1986 and 1987. Meinhart holds the school record for triples in a season (eight in 1985) and triples in a career (13). She also ranks sixth all-time at UT with 81 RBIs and third in at-bats with 678.
