Harvey Knuckles, a UT forward who lettered from 1979-81, was one of the most dominating players in the Mid-American Conference during that period. The complete player, Knuckles could score, rebound and play defense. He helped lead Toledo to a 66-24 record and three consecutive post-season appearances, with two bids in NCAA Tournament and one appearance in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT). Excellent field goal (.519) and free throw percentages (.759) helped him become the 10th leading scorer in Rocket history with 1,488 points, an average of 12.9 per game, during his career. He is ranked 2nd in single-season points (659) while shooting over 55 percent from the field and 83 percent from the foul line, grabbing 208 rebounds (6.7 per game) and recording 45 steals and 34 blocked shots. He was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. Following his UT career, Knuckles played in the Aloha Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a second-round NBA draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers. He has played professionally in Europe since 1981.
