While playing tight end for the Rockets, Don Seymour was a first-team All-MAC selection in 1973, and second-team All-MAC in 1971 and 1972. His UT record of 17 career TDs was broken by Mel Long, Jr. in the 2000 season and now ranks fourth all-time. He led UT with 44 receptions for 773 yards and nine touchdowns in 1973. His record of passes caught in a season by a tight end (44) was broken in 2006 by Chris Hopkins, but he still holds the record for tight ends for receiving yards in a season (773) and TD catches in a season (9).
