Hall of Fame
From 1961-63, Don Baker lettered in football under coaches Clive Rush and Frank Lauterbur. He played five different positionsÂÂ (fullback, halfback, defensive back, guard and defensive middle guard). He gained 157 yards on 55 carries as a halfback during his sophomore and junior seasons. He switched to offensive line as a junior, then to defensive line as a senior. In his final season, he had 33 tackles. He served as an assistant football coach at UT with the undefeated MAC champion teams from 1969 and 1970. Baker is currently a physician in Toledo. A lifelong supporter of UT athletics, Baker is a past member of the University Foundation Board, a member of the President's Club and a sponsor of the Baker Scholarship Fund (along with his brothers and sisters). His brothers, Frank and Al, also played football at UT and are members of the Hall of Fame.
