Dave Speicher was a three-year letterwinner on the Rockets' men's basketball team. Speicher's teams went 56-22 in his three years on varsity. As a senior in 1976-77, Speicher was a team captain and was named to the Academic All-MAC team. In his career, Speicher registered a .512 field goal percentage, .762 free throw percentage, 280 assists and 2,160 minutes played. He led the Rockets in assists with 135 in 1975-76. Speicher was drafted by the New Orleans Jazz in the eighth round of the 1977 NBA Draft, and played professional basketball in Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland. After retiring from basketball, Speicher settled in Zurich, Switzerland with his family and is working for Eastman Kodak.
