Dave Connelly

Dave Connelly was the baseball coach at UT from 1931-50, compiling a record of 115-93 for a percentage of .550. Dave was head basketball coach for eight years, coached track and cross country for six years, coached football for three years, and coached boxing for one year. He was athletic director from 1944 to the time of his death in 1950. Dave also served as Dean of Men for a time, and even wrote the lyrics to the "U of Toledo" fight song. He served in the U.S Army tank corps in WWI and played shortstop for the Detroit Tigers for a season. Connelly Baseball field is named in his honor.
