Chuck Hardy lettered in football as a split, running back, and safety, playing almost 60 minutes a game in 1946-48. He lettered and co-captained the track team in 1947-49, twice running 9.9 seconds in the 100-yard dash on cinder tracks and also starring in the 220, 440, long jump, speed relays and mile relays. Hardy set many records for pass receiving and also handled punt and kickoff returns, setting records of 101 yards for kickoffs and 85 yards for punts. Chuck, during his career had touchdown runs of 53, 77, 55, 50, 40, 34, 68, 30, 21, 21, and 25 yards. His 101-yard kickoff returns vs. John Carroll in 1948. In 1948 Glass Bowl games he scored twice, rushed for 82 yards, made one pass interception, and had numerous tackles on defense.
