Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team fell 7-0 against Western Michigan today to close out the 2017-18 season.

"We dealt with a lot of adversity and ill-timing with medical issues this year," head coach Al Wermer said. "Despite all that, the guys didn't blink. They stuck together and didn't do any finger pointing and we made the most out of it. This weekend gave me a really good feeling about next year. Juan Carranza, Reid Teatsorth and Vince Anzalone especially did a nice job of laying the groundwork for next year as we approached the end of our season."

Standout performer from the match was junior Reid Teatsorth. The Findlay, Ohio native played in the No. 3 singles slot and was one of two Rockets to force a third set today. Teatsorth won his first set against WMU's Lenhard Haupt 6-3 but dropped the second 2-6, forcing a match tiebreak. Teatsorth fought hard in the final leg of his match but ultimately fell 10-7.

Senior Saturday
Toledo celebrated senior Stephen Miller today prior to the match. Miller went 21-32 in singles competitions and 17-22 in doubles over his years with Toledo. The New Albany, Ohio native has earned 17 two-set sweeps throughout his career with the Midnight Blue and Gold.
