Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team is geared up to compete in the final two matches of the regular season this weekend. The Rockets host Binghamton Friday at 1:00 p.m., followed by a rematch against Western Michigan on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Both matches are expected to be played on the UT varsity tennis courts barring inclement weather. Fans are encouraged to check the men's tennis Twitter page (@ToledoMTennis) and UTRockets.com before leaving home.
"This weekend will be an opportunity for many of our guys to use as a springboard for next year," head coach
Al Wermer said. "With some luck on the medical side, we could be competing for a championship next week. There's a feeling of unfinished business this season, but we know we can do it next year."
Senior
Stephen Miller will also be recognized during Saturday's match in celebration of senior day.

"Stephen has been the most positive and optimistic player I've ever had," Wermer said. "He's been a great glue-guy for us, especially this year."

Miller has gone 21-31 in singles competitions and 17-20 in doubles over his years with Toledo. The New Albany, Ohio native has earned 17 two-set sweeps throughout his career with the Midnight Blue and Gold.

Serjen Olmedo won the point for Toledo after winning their No. 3 match 6-3.

Teatsorth earned the Rockets' second point by playing through a match tiebreak in the No. 5 position. The Findlay, Ohio native lost the first set 4-6 before coming back 7-6 in the second. With the pressure on, Teatsorth defeated NIU's Bor Schweiger Muzar 10-5 in the third.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats are 4-16 (0-5 MAC) and coming off a 6-1 loss to WMU on Friday and 5-2 victory over Colgate on Sunday. Binghamton's lone point against the Broncos came from Inigo Saez in No. 5 singles where he won 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. In Sunday's contest, the Bearcats dropped the doubles point but came back during singles to upset the Raiders by winning sets No. 2-6. Top performer for the team is Valentin Bouch who is 7-3 in dual matches this season.

SCOUTING WESTERN MICHIGAN
The Broncos are 19-4 (6-0 MAC) and coming off a 6-1 over Binghamton on Friday and 5-2 win over Buffalo on Sunday. Friday saw WMU earn its eighth-straight victory after going lights out against the Bearcats. Sunday's match featured the Brown and Gold sweeping the doubles point in the No. 1 and 3 sets thanks to Jannik Opitz/Kennosuke Nouchi and Maik Steiner/Billy Heckman. In singles, the Broncos dropped the No. 3 and 4 sets but shutout the top-two and bottom-two UB players.

FREE FOOD
Fans in attendance of this weekend's matches will be treated with free food from UT sponsors Fuzzy's Taco Shop and Potbelly Sandwich Shop. Fuzzy's will have tacos at Friday's contest and Potbelly will be at Saturday's match.
