DeKalb, Ill. - The Toledo men's tennis team fell 5-2 on the road at Northern Illinois on Friday.

"We saw some great performances from juniors Reid Teatsorth and Serjen Olmedo, but unfortunately we couldn't come away with the win," head coach Al Wermer said. "NIU played solid in singles play today."

Toledo started the day by clinching the doubles point. The duo of junior Luka Vitosevic/sophomore Danilo Vukotic won in the No. 1 spot with a score of 7-5 to put the Rockets up early. Junior Serjen Olmedo and Carranza then came together in the No. 3 spot and won 6-2 to clinch the point for UT.

Singles competition was highlighted by Teatsorth's comeback win in the No. 5 spot. The Findlay, Ohio native fell 4-6 in his first set but won 7-6 in the second to force a tiebreak. Teatsorth battled to a 10-5 win over NIU's Bor Schweiger Muzar to earn UT's second point of the day.

The Rockets return to action on Friday, April 20 when the team hosts Binghamton at 1:00 p.m. on the UT varsity tennis courts.
