Riverside, Calif. - The University of Toledo women's tennis team won 6-1 over UC-Riverside today, improving its record to 8-3 in dual matches.

"I was happy with the effort from top to bottom today," head coach Tracy Mauntler said following the match. "It's great to get some wins outside and gather valuable experience."

Toledo started the day off by clinching the doubles point in a straight sweep. Senior Colleen O'Brien and sophomore Dee Dee Leenabanchong combined in the No. 3 doubles spot to best their opponents 6-1. Junior Kokoro Chishaki and senior Sidnay Huck won 6-2 in the No. 1 spot, and the No. 2 pairing of sophomore Mimi Kendall-Woseley and junior Thalita Rodrigues closed out doubles play with a 6-4 win.

The Rockets were near perfect in the singles competition, with all but one match ending in two sets. Leenabanchong and Kendall-Woseley each continued their individual dominance in the singles competition. Kendall-Woseley improved to 4-1 in her last five matches after winning 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot today. Leenabanchong also won her match, going 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 2 spot to move to 4-1 in her last five singles matches as well.

The Rockets play their final match in California tomorrow at 1:30 PST (4:30 EST) when they take on UC-Irvine.
