Toledo, Ohio
— The University of Toledo women's tennis team will host Oakland at Shadow Valley Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1:00 pm.
The Rockets are 3-2 and have won their last two matches, a 4-3 victory at Cleveland State on Jan. 28 and a 5-2 home win against Youngstown State on Feb. 2.
In the victory against the Penguins, the Rockets lost the doubles point before rallying for a 5-2 victory. Senior
Sidnay Huck and sophomores
Mimi Kendall-Woseley and
Dee Dee Leenabanchong all won in straight sets. Juniors
Kokoro Chishaki and
Claire Aleck, at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively, each were down a set before rallying to win.
"We are looking forward to building on our performance from last weekend against Youngstown," said head coach
Tracy Mauntler. "Losing the doubles point is never good, but the way we dealt with it was great. The focus during singles was superb and I feel like being under that kind of pressure will really help us as we move through the season."
