Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team registered its first victory of the season with a 4-3 win over Wayne State on Friday evening.Â
"Today was a highly competitive match and I think the final score showed that," Head Coach
Al Wermer said. "We have areas we need to improve in, but we saw a lot of progress in others. We need to get ready to have a great match at Notre Dame on Sunday."

UT's victory started with a sweep in the doubles competition.
Luka Vitosevic and
Danilo Vukotic combined to win 6-3 at the No. 1 doubles spot.Â
Thawin Suksathaporn and
Reid Teatsorth also won 6-3 while playing in the No. 2 doubles spot. The pairing of
Vince Anzalone and
Serjen Olmedo didn't finish their set, but they led 5-3 when play was stopped.

Play was neck-and-neck throughout singles competition. Vitosevic, Suksathaporn and Teatsorth each won their matches to provide Toledo wins in the respective No. 3, 4 and 5 spots.

UT is back in action on Sunday, Feb. 25 when it travels to Notre Dame for a 5:00 p.m. match against the Fighting Irish.
