Dayton, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team dropped the second match of its three-match road trip on Saturday, falling to the Dayton Flyers by a final score of 6-1.
"This match was riveting," said head coach
Al Wermer. "From the first ball in doubles, it could have gone either way. We showed the resilience we expect, but Dayton was just too good today."
In doubles competition, the Rockets fell in the opening two matches, while the third doubles match went unfinished, with
Serjen Olmedo and
Thawin Suksathaporn leading 6-5 in the first set.
For singles play, the Rockets were led by senior
Vince Anzalone, who secured the lone victory for Toledo on the day. Anzalone defeated Dayton's Carsten Fisher 6-4, 7-6 (5).
Toledo will finish off its three-match road trip on Sunday when it visits Wright State University. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
