CLEVELAND, Ohio - Thirteen Rockets from the Toledo baseball team were named to the 2017 Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, announced by the league office on Friday. 

Ross Adolph (Findlay, Ohio), Brad Boss (Temperance, Mich.), Josh Cales (Wauseon, Ohio), Steven Calhoun (Tipp City, Ohio), Riley Campbell (Wadsworth, Ohio), Michael Jacob (St. Clairsville, Ohio), Jordan Kesson (Hartland, Mich.), Jake Krupar (East Sparta, Ohio), AJ Montoya (St. Joseph's, Mich.), Caleb Schillace (LaGrange, Ohio) and Sam Shutes (Three Rivers, Mich.), Kyle Slack (Edwardsburg, Mich.), Alex Wagner (Brighton, Mich.) were selected for their outstanding efforts in the classroom and on the field.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academic. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. 

This is the third-consecutive all-academic team for Calhoun and the second all-academic team Cales, Kesson, Shutes, Slack and Wagner.

A total of 79 student-athletes were named to the team.
