TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo baseball team plays their final non-conference game of the season against Ohio State on Tuesday, May 16 at Bill Davis Stadium and Nick Swisher Field in Columbus, Ohio. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
Prior to the start of the action, the Rockets will meet State Representative Stephen A. Huffman of the 80th House District. Huffman is a University of Toledo graduate and played football for the Rockets during his time in the Glass City.
Toledo (15-36) will trot out freshman right-hander
Joey Prechtel for his fifth-consecutive weekday start. Prechtel recorded his first career win on Wednesday, April 19 in an 11-7 win at Dayton.Â
In UT's last series, the Rockets lost the opener, 1-4, to Central Michigan before earning an important 11-7 Mid-American Conference win over the Chippewas. CMU took the series finale, 15-0, to spoil the Rockets senior day celebrations. Toledo honored nine Rockets before their final home contest at Scott Park.

Brad Boss at a .285 clip. Juniors
Dalton Bollinger and
AJ Montoya are tied for the team lead with 35 RBIs apiece. The duo combines with junior
Matt Hansen to top the squad with six home runs on the campaign.Â
Ohio State (20-32) lost their last contest in walk-off fashion as the Buckeyes were beaten 11-10 by Iowa. The walk-off was not the only one of the week for OSU as the Buckeyes defeated Bowling Green 7-6 in 12 innings on Tuesday, May 9.
OSU has three hitters hitting over the .300 mark in Dominic Canzone, Tre' Gantt and Connor Pohl. Canzone leads the way at .351. Right-handed freshman Jake Vance will start on the mound for Ohio State. He has recorded an 0-3 record with a 6.14 ERA in 22.0 innings.
Toledo has put itself in position to make the MAC Tournament with a pair of wins in its last series at Eastern Michigan. The Rockets can make the tournament with one win, but will be scoreboard watching and looking for the right combinations in MAC series between Northern Illinois/Miami and Western Michigan/Buffalo.
