TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team handed out its postseason awards on Sunday, April 30 at its end-of-the-year awards dinner. Four awards were handed out after a team vote, including Most Valuable Player, Newcomer of the Year, Most Improved Player and Team Leadership awards.
 
"It has been a challenging year," said Head Coach 
Al Wermer. "We've had a lot of positives, but the obstacles were significant. I've seen everyone grow lot this year and the adversity we faced will help all of us moving forward."
 
Senior 
Stjepan Sisko was named the team MVP for the fourth-consecutive year and was also presented with the Team Leadership award for the second-straight season.
Freshman 
Thawin Suksathaporn was voted the team's Newcomer of the Year after his first year with the Midnight Blue & Gold, while sophomore 
Reid Teatsorth was honored as the team's Most Improved Player.
 
At the conclusion of the banquet, sophomore 
Vince Anzalone was honored with the program's annual Brian Engel Award, which is given to the most deserving player who has shown excellence in tennis, academics, leadership, sportsmanship and community service.
 
The award is named for former Toledo tennis player and Varsity 'T' Hall of Famer, Brian Engel, and it is voted on by Head Coach 
Al Wermer, Brian Engel and the 2015 winner, 
Mark Singnil.
