La Jolla, CA – Toledo completed its run in the 128^th Annual Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships on Sunday afternoon at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. UT's No. 1 doubles pair of senior Stjepan Sisko and freshman Thawin Suksathaporn won four-straight matches in the consolation bracket but eventually fell to UC Irvine in the semi-finals.
 
"This is an unbelievably great tournament with tradition and prestige," said head coach Al Wermer. "We had lot of good moments in an outdoor environment and we had a lot of close matches that will develop our mental toughness."
 
Other teams that participated in the tournament included Boston College, Cal Berkley, Oregon State, Penn State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, Stanford, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UCLA, USC, Villanova and William & Mary. Also participating in the tournament was teaching pros, promising juniors, college coaches and former tour players.
 
All four Rocket duos fell in the Round of 128 but continued on to have great runs in the consolation bracket.
 
Sisko and Suksathaporn defeated doubles teams from Boston College, William & Mary and UCSD, and a pair of former players en route to a spot in the Consolation Semifinal match vs. UC Irvine's Mason Hansen and Tyler Pham. Hansen and Pham defeated Toledo, 7-5, 6-4, but eventually lost in the finals.
 
Junior Stephen Miller and sophomore Luka Vitosevic were victorious through Round 4, defeating teams from UC Davis and UCSD but ultimately fell to Hansen and Pham, 6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-3, the quarterfinals.
 
Sophomores Vince Anzalone and Serjen Olmedo defeated Pepperdine and William & Mary in Round 1 and Round 2. The sophomore duo fell in the fourth round to UC Davis, 6-3, 6-2.
