Columbus, OH – Toledo fell to No. 3 Ohio State, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at OSU's Varsity Tennis Center. The Rockets faced three nationally ranked singles players and a nationally ranked doubles team.
"We had some bright spots today and we have a long season ahead of us," said head coach Al Wermer. "These type of challenges will help build our confidence and our toughness throughout the season."
Sophomore Vince Anzalone put forth a tough battle at No. 2 singles against No. 34 Herkko Pollanen. Anzalone forced the first set into extra points, 7-6 (7-1), but eventually also fell in Set 2 to end the match.
