Five Rockets Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

Cleveland, OH – The Toledo women's tennis team had five athletes earn Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors, league officials announced on Tuesday. Mackenzie Bowman, Sidnay Huck, Emily Mazzola, Colleen O'Brien and Lauren Thai were selected due to their outstanding efforts in the classroom, as well as on the tennis court.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
A total of 28 student-athletes were named to the 2016 Women's Tennis Academic All-MAC Team. Seniors Mackenzie Bowman, Emily Mazzola and Lauren Thai earned this award for the second-consecutive year and sophomores Sidnay Huck and Colleen O'Brien are first-time selections.
