TOLEDO, OH – Toledo softball will play a midweek non-conference doubleheader against IPFW on Wednesday, April 20. The Rockets will match up against the Mastodons at Scott Park with the first game scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.

  Senior OF
Jessica Lemieux is one of Toledo's top offensive threat this season. The Banks, OR native holds a .328 batting average with 38 hits through UT's 39 games. Lemieux has scored a team-high 21 runs and recorded 57 total bases. The senior leads the team in stolen bases with 22.

Chandler Rice is second on the team with a .313 average. She has tallied a team-high 19 RBI and five home runs, while also recording 34 hits and 17 runs. She also leads the team in slugging percentage (.536) and total bases (60). Rice and Lemieux are tied with a team-high eight doubles.
     Rice was selected as the MAC West Player of the Week (April 11) for her performance in Toledo's doubleheaders vs. EMU and Ohio. Rice posted a .545 batting average (6-for-11), while recording, one double, one triple, two homeruns and 15 total bases. She scored five runs, tallied five RBI and swiped three bags.

Marla Gooding leads the Rockets with a 4.5 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 130.2 innings pitched. Gooding has made 28 appearances on the mound, hurling for 13 complete games and winning seven. Freshman RHP
Heather Webb has passed Gooding with 53 strikeouts in 68.2 innings. Webb recorded her first victory in Toledo's five-inning shutout against Eastern Michigan (April 5).

IPFW BREAKDOWN
    IPFW enters Wednesday's doubleheader with an 11-31 overall record and a 2-10 record in the Summit League. The Mastodons are coming off of a 6-4 victory over IUPUI on Sunday, after dropping two games on Saturday, 3-1, 8-0. IPFW is batting .263 as a team and have recorded 10 home runs throughout the season.
    Sophomore Sierra Miranda leads the Mastodons' offense with a .322 batting average with 39 hits through their 42 games. Miranda has recorded seven doubles, two triples and 15 RBI. Senior RHP Sarah Lazarowich leads IPFW's pitching staff with a 5.43 ERA through 117.1 innings pitched. She has recorded 64 strikeouts and has allowed 91 earned runs.

LOOKING AHEAD
    Toledo will head to Michigan for its second-consecutive weekend to take on the Western Michigan Broncos in Kalamazoo, MI in a three-game series on April 23-24. Friday's contest will start at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
