John Walters is in his sixth year as the head athletic trainer for the football program at the University of Toledo.
Before coming to UT, Walters spent the 2009-10 seasons as an assistant athletic trainer at Auburn, where he worked primarily with the 2010 national champion Tigers’ football team.
A native of Dearborn Heights, MI, Walters earned his bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Central Michigan in 2005 and his master’s degree from Georgia State in 2007. He began his career as an intern at Auburn in 2005, then worked as a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech before becoming the head athletic trainer at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL in 2007.
Walters and his wife, Beth, reside in Toledo.
