  • Toledo finishes the regular season 7-5, 5-3 in MAC play, tied with Eastern Michigan for first place in the West Division. Toledo will represent the West Division by virtue of its 27-24 win at Eastern Michigan on Oct. 29, and will face East Division champ Ohio (9-3, 7-1 MAC) in the MAC Championship Game on Dec. 3.
  • Sophomore quarterback Dequan Finn started the game after sitting out the BGSU game last week with an injury. He played in five drives in the first half, completing 5-of-11 passes for 35 yards.
  • Redshirt freshman Tucket Gleason replaced Finn in the second quarter and immediately led the Rockets on a 50-yard scoring drive. Gleason finished the game with 200 yards passing and one touchdown on 13-of-38 passing.
  • Gleason rushed for his third touchdown of the season in the sescond quarter. Finn has eight rushing TDs this season, giving Toledo signal-callers a combined 11 scores on the ground this season.
  • Peny Boone led the rushing attack with 70 yards on 15 attempts.
  • Toledo had a season-high six sacks on the day. Senior lineman Nate Givhan led the way with a career-best two sacks.
  • Sophomore cornerback Quinyon Mitchell grabbed his fifth interception of the season in the second quarter. He added two breakups, giving him 17 for the season and breaking the Toledo record of 16 set by Samuel Womack last season. Mitchell leads the nation with a total of 22 passes defended.
  • Toledo’s defense held WMU to just 188 yards of total offense, including 66 in the first half, and had a season-high 12 tackles for loss. The Broncos totaled just eight first downs and were also held to just 2-of-20 on third down.
  • Toledo forced WMU to punt 14 times, one shy of the school record set vs. CMU in 2018. It is the most punts by an opponent in a UT loss.
