Sophomore safety Nate Bauer
On Saturday’s performance against Ball State
“Our coaches did a great job of getting us prepared for today, I just don’t think we came out with good energy in that first half. We made some adjustments at halftime and played better in the second half.”
Sophomore quarterback Carter Bradley
On Saturday’s performance against Ball State
“We aren’t phased by this. We’re going into next week with our heads held high and a positive attitude. We need to get over this and learn from our mistakes. I think we do a good job of that here, we should have no problem bouncing back.”
Head Coach Jason Candle
On his team’s performance against Ball State
“We didn’t have enough success to start the game on offense. Ball State did a good job of sustaining drives and staying on the field. We were playing from behind, we hadn’t seen much success, and that’s going to have an effect on your team’s energy. When things started to get going we started to get a little momentum. A lot of good things happened when we picked up momentum.”
On the team’s rushing performance
“Their defensive front did a good job and we didn’t run it very effectively. We have to go back and identify what happened because we’re going to keep running the football, we’re not going to turn into an air raid offense.”
On the fourth quarter comeback
“We started playing complementary football, we made some timely stops on defense, and we were able to turn a few of those timely stops into points on offense.”
On sophomore quarterback Carter Bradley
“Carter came into the game in a critical moment and made a couple really big throws. To sit their for three-and-a-half hours and come into the game at that point is really hard. We’re seeing progression, we’re seeing him get better.”
