Post-Game Notes vs. Kentucky

 
  • This was the first game ever between Toledo and Kentucky. Toledo is now 1-4 vs. SEC teams.
  • Two true freshmen made their debuts today, Chris McDonald, Jr., who started at cornerback, and placekicker Evan Davis, who made a 46-yard field goal and was 3-of-3 on extra points.
  • Junior Bailey Flint averaged 42.4 yards on eight punts, including a 41-yarder in the first quarter that pinned Kentucky on its own three-yard line. He had four punts downed inside the 20-yard line and also unleashed a 58-yarder in the fourth quarter, tying his career long.
  • Senior Mitchell Guadagni completed 7-of-12 passes for 122 yards and one rushing touchdown. He tied for the team lead in rushing with 73 yards, the fifth time in his career he has tied for the team or led the Rockets in rushing. Guadagni came out of the game in the third quarter after sustaining a hit at the end of a 19-yard run.
  • Redshirt freshman Carter Bradley came in at quarterback in place of Guadagni in the third quarter, completing 4-of-13 passes for 44 yards. He also scored on a five-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.
  • Juniors Bryce Mitchell and Danzel McKinley-Lewis led the Rocket receivers with three catches apiece.
  • Sophomore Nick Kovacs caught the first pass of his career, a 10-yard reception in the first quarter. He finished with two catches for 18 yards.
  • Sophomore Bryant Koback rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown in his return to Lexington. Koback transferred to Toledo from Kentucky following the 2017 season. He sat out the 2017 season as a redshirt so this was his first official game at Kroger Field.
  • Sophomore Saeed Holt led the Rockets with a career-best 10 tackles, adding one tackle for loss and a forced fumble.
  • Junior safety Tycen Anderson also had a career-high eight tackles and one tackle for loss.
  • Sophomore defense end Jamal Hines had six solo tackles, including a team-best two tackles for loss and one quarterback hurry.
