Post-Game Notes vs. Bowling Green

  • Saturday’s 52-36 win over Bowling Green was the ninth in a row for Toledo in the series. UT now leads the all-time series 40-39-4 and has been in possession of the Battle of I-75 Rivalry trophy since its introduction in 2011.
  • Toledo is now 62-27 in Homecoming games and 6-6 when playing Bowling Green on Homecoming.
  • The Rockets have now won 11 of their last 12 meetings with the Falcons in the Glass Bowl.
  • This is the first time in the history of the rivalry that either team has scored at least 50 points in consecutive meetings. Toledo scored 66 points in last year’s meeting.
  • The Rockets blocked two more kicks to bring their season total to five. Reggie Gilliam blocked a punt in the first quarter, his second blocked kick of the season, and freshman Desjuan Johnson blocked a field goal in the second quarter. Entering the weekend, Toledo was tied for the national lead with three blocked kicks.
  • Cody Thompson led the Rockets with six receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown. He is now tied with Lance Moore and Eric Page atop Toledo’s career touchdown reception list with 25 scores. One more touchdown will give Thompson the program’s career record.
  • Shakif Seymour rushed for 101 yards on 18 carries, his third career 100-yard rushing game and first this season.
  • Bryant Koback rushed for three touchdowns on Saturday, all of which came within a 6:25 span in the fourth quarter. It was Koback’s second career multi-touchdown performance after rushing for two TDs in the season opener against VMI.
  • Toledo scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, its most since Nov. 25, 2016 against Western Michigan. UT also scored 21 points in the fourth quarter of that game.
  • Richard Olekanma tied a career high with eight tackles. He also had eight stops last season at Ball State.
  • In his first game as Toledo’s starting quarterback, Eli Peters threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
  • Jameson Vest made a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter, the 62nd successful field goal of his career. He is now seven field goals made away from setting the program’s all-time record. Rusty Hanna (1989-92) holds the UT record with 68.
  • Toledo broke up eight pass attempts, led by senior safety Josh Teachey's three breakups.
