Post-Game Notes

  • Senior wide receiver Cody Thompson has now caught a pass in 29 consecutive games. He racked up 114 yards, giving him his 14th-career 100-yard receiving game. Thompson passed Steve Odom (2003-06, 2,631 yards) on Toledo’s all-time career receiving yards list. He now has 2,633 receiving yards.
  • Senior quarterback Logan Woodside threw for 342 yards, the 13th 300 yard passing game of his career. He attempted a career-high 48 passes, the third time in his career he’s thrown at least 40 passes in a game. His previous career high was 46 (Oct. 27, 2016 vs. Ohio).
  • Senior Jameson Vest was three-for-three on field goal attempts and for the third time this season he made at least three field goals in a game. Coming into the game Vest was fourth in the NCAA with 2.7 field goals per game.
  • Sophomore wide receiver Diontae Johnson hauled in eight receptions, setting a new career high for the second game in a row. He also tied his career-best with two touchdown receptions.
  • Also setting a new career-best total for receptions was sophomore Danzel McKinley-Lewis, who had five catches.
  • Sophomore Jordan Williams recorded his first career interception in the fourth quarter, picking it off at the Miami 43-yard line and taking it down to the eight-yard line.
  • Senior Jameson Vest nailed a 49-yard field goal in the second quarter, tying his career long (Nov. 16, 2016 vs. Ball State).
  • The successful two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter was the first of the season for the Rockets and their first since Oct. 15, 2016 against Bowling Green.
  • Sophomore Reggie Gilliam snagged an 11-yard catch in the second quarter for a Toledo first down, giving him his first reception of his career.
  • Redshirt freshman wide receiver Neru N’Shaka also registered his first career reception, catching a fourth quarter pass from quarterback Michael Julian.
  • In the second quarter Toledo held Miami scoreless, the fourth time it has shut out an opponent in a quarter this season. The Rockets outgained the Hurricanes 186-32 in the second quarter.
  • Freshman Bailey Flint’s first three punts pinned the Hurricanes at their own 15, 15, and nine-yard lines.
  • Toledo was 13-for-22 converting on third downs, setting season highs in both successful conversion and total attempts.
