Post-Game Notes

  • For the third straight season Toledo has started 3-0. The last time the Rockets started 3-0 in at least three straight seasons was from 1968-71.
  • Toledo’s 21-point comeback is tied for the third-largest in school history, tying the Nov. 12, 1994 win over Western Michigan. The largest-ever comeback was against Western Carolina on September 6, 1975, a 24-point comeback.
  • Senior Logan Woodside moved into third place on Toledo’s all-time passing yardage list, passing Gene Swick (1972-75, 7,266 yards). Woodside threw for 458 yards and now has 7,636 career passing yards. His 458 passing yards are third-most in a single game in Toledo history; he also holds spots number one and five (vs. BYU in2016 and vs. Ohio in 2016, respectively).
  • Woodside’s six touchdown passes are tied for the most in a single game in Toledo history. Bruce Gradkowski achieved that feat twice (2003 vs. Buffalo, 2004 vs. Ball State). That total is tied for the fourth-most in a single game in MAC history.
  • In the second half, Woodside threw for 294 yards, third-most in a half in UT history and the most ever in the second half.
  • The 60-yard touchdown reception by sophomore Danzel McKinley-Lewis in the first quarter was the longest reception of his career. His previous long reception was a 40-yarder against Arkansas State on Sept. 2, 2016.
  • Toledo racked up 679 yards of total offense, which is the fourth-most all-time and the most since it gained 666 yards vs. New Hampshire in 2014.
  • Tulsa and Toledo combined for 1,227 yards of total offense, which is tied for the ninth-highest total ever in a MAC game.
  • Towards the end of the third quarter, junior Josh Teachey returned a blocked PAT all the way for two points, the first blocked PAT for Toledo since Oct. 24, 2009 (Barry Church vs. Temple).
  • Senior Terry Swanson finished the night with 139 yards on the ground, the ninth 100-yard rushing performance of his career and second consecutive game with at least 100 rushing yards.
  • Senior Cody Thompson had career high totals in catches (nine) and receiving yards (178) while also hauling in three touchdowns. Thompson is now in sole possession of eighth place on the Toledo career receiving touchdowns list, passing Andrew Clark (2001-05) and Steve Odom (2003-06).
  • Junior Josh Teachey blew past his previous career-high in tackles, finishing with a game-high 14 against the Golden Hurricane. His previous best was five against Northern Illinois on Nov. 2, 2015.
  • Senior Jack Linch had one tackle for loss in his career entering the game; he had two against Tulsa.
  • Sophomore Diontae Johnson set new career highs in receiving yards (142) and touchdown receptions (2).
