Final Game Notes

  • Toledo improved to 23-19 all-time against Ball State with Thursday’s win. It also marked the second time the Rockets have scored at least 50 points against the Cardinals in the history of the series. (52-14 over BSU in 2004).
  • UT scored the most points in a game since Oct. 17, 2015 in a 63-20 win over Eastern Michigan
  • This is the seventh straight season Toledo has scored at least 50 points twice in a season.
  • The Rockets rushed for 335 yards, a season-high and the third straight game with at least 300 yards rushing. Three different players had a rush of at least 60 yards: Shakif Seymour (63 yards), Terry Swanson (71 yards), and Nevone McCrimmon (73 yards).
  • Toledo recorded its longest pass play (88 yards, Diontae Johnson), longest rush (73 yards, Nevone McCrimmon), and longest punt return (87 yards, Diontae Johnson) of the season tonight against the Cardinals.
  • Toledo ran seven plays in the third quarter and scored 27 points. The Rockets finished with 602 yards of total offense, the fifth time this season they have had at least 500 yards of offense.
  • Terry Swanson’s 71-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was Toledo’s longest run in 2017 and the longest touchdown run of Swanson’s career.
  • Swanson finished with 105 rushing yards, the 12th 100-yard rushing performance of his career.
  • Diontae Johnson finished with four catches and a career-high 170 receiving yards. His previous high was 142 yards against Tulsa. He finished with 273 all-purpose yards.
  • Johnson also tied a career-high with two touchdown receptions, a benchmark he has reached twice before, last at Miami (Fla) earlier this season.
  • Johnson’s 87-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter was the longest punt return for Toledo since 2011 (Eric Page vs. Eastern Michigan)
  • Freshman Nevone McCrimmon rushed for a career-high 81 yards.
  • After relieving Logan Woodside, senior Michael Julian recorded the first rushing touchdown of his career early in the fourth quarter.
  • Richard Olekanma finished with a career-high eight tackles.
