Len Matuszek, Baseball (1973-76)
Len Matuszek lettered four times in baseball, 1973-76, and twice in basketball, 1974-76. He was a starter on the 1975-76 basketball team that finished 18-7. Averaged 7.4 points per game, shot .506 percent from the field, and was second on the team in assists. Still stands as follows in UT Baseball history: 7th in career runs scored, career base hits and career home runs; 8th in career total bases and career times at bat; 10th in career runs batted in; 3rd in career bases on ball; and tied for second in career triples. He has played professionally with the Philadelphia Phillies since graduation. In 1981, led he American Association (AAA) in batting, home runs and RBI, took over for Pete Rose as Phillies regular first baseman in 1984. Originally from Cincinnati, he lives today in Dunedin, FL.
