Linda Janicki , Women's Basketball (1980-84)
From 1980 Janicki starred on the women's basketball squad from 1980-84 and is the first woman ever selected for induction into the Varsity "T" Hall of fame. Her many honors while at The University of Toledo include: All-MAC first-team selection in 1984, All-MAC second-team selection in 1983, Ohio Player of Week during the 1982-83 season and MAC Player of the Week twice. Janicki was named an All-MAC Academic honorable mention in 1984. She was a fifth round draft choice of the Columbus franchise of the Women's American Basketball Association Professional League in 1984. She currently holds numerous records, including most points (1477), scoring average (14.6), rebounds (999), field goals made (594), field goal percentage (.508) and rebounding average (9.8). She also hold the UT single-season records for most points scored (496), scoring average (17.1), field goals made (210), rebounds (279) and single-game records in field goals made (15) and field goal percentage (1,00-10/10). Janicki is aToledo native and a graduate of Whitmer High School.
