Courtney Ingersoll: In Search for the Ring

So here it is. The MAC tourney has finally arrived and it is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Toledo. We are setting off on our travels to Cleveland in hopes of returning with a championship. That is also the goal for 12 other teams, so the competitive spirit is about to be unleashed. On Friday, we will playing when most people are just opening their eyes. Our tipoff is at 9:00 a.m. and we are in store for a fierce quarterfinals battle with the Ohio Bobcats. I'm beginning to think Cleveland isn't ready for what were about to do. We had just loaded our bus, that had three different looking hubcaps, speckles of rust spread on the paint, and a luggage compartment that didn't close. We had to travel 25 minutes to get a new bus, just to have passing cars point and try to inform us that our bus was open..Like we weren't aware.
We have been on spring break but it surely doesn't feel like spring. The rain has been a hot commodity in Toledo and so has the wind. My poor, tiny, dollar store umbrella isn't hefty enough to weather the storm...literally. It has been ripped, torn, and flipped inside out, as has my soul from seeing my poor umbrella go through that torture. I feel Susan the Summer knocking so I hope Mother Nature opens the door, soon.
Hopefully our Toledo fans will come out in a pack for our game. Mainly, I just hope to see our athletic trainer's Sara McGriff's parents, "Big R" and "Fancy Nancy". They bring us good luck. And if her boyfriend Andrew is there Sunday, the McGriff fanclub will be complete. It is such a good feeling knowing that our Blue Crew, Igniters, and band will be accompanying us, along with my mom, sister, and dad of course...shout out to steiner!!!! Oh, and by the way - LeBron if you're reading this, make sure to get my number after our games and hit me up on the celly.
So here we come Cleveland. All of us. Our team is not just the people on the bus (poor Lisa crammed in the back of the bus counts for team dedication points x10), but everyone who has ever worn the midnight blue and gold. We are here to win this thing and we won't surrender without a fight. I know one thing, we will play hard and all look good doing so.
