TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo defensive back Avery Smith and wide receiver Junior Vandeross III were named HERO Sports Group of Five Preseason All-Americans on Wednesday.
 
Each Rocket was named to the first team for their respective side of the ball. Toledo is one of five teams with multiple first-team picks.
 
Both were All-MAC selections in 2024, with Vandeross taking a first-team selection and Smith a second-team pick. Vandeross was also a third-team Group of Five All-American last season.
 
The Rockets begin their season on Aug. 30 at Kentucky and return to the Glass Bowl for the "Biggest Party in Toledo" on Sept. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
