HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Toledo baseball team scored in four different innings and the bullpen allowed just two runs over 7.2 innings, as the Rockets held off High Point for a 5-3 victory to salvage the series finale at Williard Stadium on Monday.
Â
The Rockets (2-5) took the lead in the second inning and held the advantage the rest of the way, adding insurance runs in the third, fourth and eighth innings. The Panthers (7-1) cut their deficit to one three separate times, but Rocket pitching held them scoreless after the fifth inning. High Point dropped its first game of the season, while Toledo snapped a four-game skid.
