Toledo gains most All-MAC selections by any school since 1999
TOLEDO, Ohio – A total of 16 Toledo Rockets earned a school-record 17 spots on the 2025 All-MAC Football Team, including seven first-team selections, the Mid-American Conference announced on Thursday.
The 17 All-MAC selections are the most ever tallied by a current MAC school and trail only the 18 gained by Marshall in 1999. Toledo had by far the most 2025 All-MAC selections, eight more than Buffalo, Ohio and Miami, which were second with nine each. The Rockets also had the most first-team picks, three more than Western Michigan, Buffalo and Miami's four apiece. Toledo owned three of the four first-team All-MAC selections at defensive back – Braden Awls, Andre Fuller and Emmanuel McNeil-Warren – on a defense that is No. 2 in the nation in total defense.
Senior wide receiver Junior Vandeross III (first team), senior cornerback Avery Smith (second team), junior offensive lineman Ethan Spoth (second team) and sophomore punt returner Bryson Hammer (third team) are repeat selections for the Rockets. Vandeross is a two-time first-team pick.
Senior Trayvon Rudolph earned second-team All-MAC honors as both a wide receiver and as a kickoff returner.
"I'm obviously very proud of these players. They've stayed the course, continued to develop and did a great job leading our football team," said Head Coach Jason Candle. "Your best players should be your best leaders, and these guys have really owned that. They have bought into team success first over individual accolades, but it's still very rewarding as a coach to see them get the individual awards that they deserve."
