Tucker Gleason Named MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior quarterback Tucker Gleason was named the Male Scholar Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference today for his performance in Toledo's 45-10 victory over Kent State on Oct. 18.

Gleason threw for a season-high 294 yards and had a career-high four touchdowns in the victory. His 48 career touchdowns are now sixth place among Toledo quarterbacks and his 5,627 passing yards are ninth place in the Toledo record books. He was also named the MAC football Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance vs. the Golden Flashes.

In the classroom, Gleason is pursuing a second degree in computer science and engineering technology. Gleason, who holds a 3.448 GPA, previously earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science.

Gleason is the fourth Rocket this season to be named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week, joining teammate Chip Trayanum, along with women's tennis player JJ Scholten and women's swimmer Leah Evans.

Gleason and the Rockets (4-3, 2-2 MAC) travel west to Pullman, Wash. to face Washington State (3-4) on Saturday, Oct. 25 (3:30 p.m. ET/The CW).
