Toledo Hosting Rocket Classic at Catawba Island Club Next Week

54-hole tournament will be held on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Port Clinton
TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo women's golf program will host the Rocket Classic for a fourth consecutive year when it travels to the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio next week. The tournament will be held on Monday-Tuesday, September 30-October 1 with 10 schools competing for the tournament title on the par-72, 5,979-yard CIC layout.

The Rockets will be joined by Akron, Bethune-Cookman, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, Le Moyne, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Tennessee Tech.
The Rocket Classic will be the third tournament Toledo has competed in this fall. UT's lineup includes redshirt freshman Valeria Lizcano at No. 1, senior Yedam Lee at No. 2, senior Kyleigh Dull at No. 3, freshman Brooklyn Millard at No. 4, and freshman Emily Young at No. 5. Sophomore Mia Natividad will be participating as an individual.
The Rockets captured last year's tourney title, with Dull winning her first collegiate tournament to lead the way. She shot a 10-over par 226 (73-77-76) to finish two strokes ahead of Akron's Daphne van Son. Toledo posted a team score of 925 to finish 12 shots in front of the Zips, who entered the final round with a five-stroke lead.
Following the Rocket Classic, Toledo will head to Dayton, Ohio for the Flyer Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 21-22.
