TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team will close the month of August with a home bout against Detroit Mercy on Friday, Aug. 30 at Paul Hotmer Field. First kick is set for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
Toledo is coming off a 1-0 defeat at Northwestern on Sunday. The Rockets limited NU to four shots on goal, but a 55th-minute tally was the difference in the contest.

Defense Looks to Build off Strong Effort

• Toledo allowed just four shots on goal to Northwestern on Sunday. The Wildcats had averaged 6.67 shots on goal coming into the matchup.
• The Rockets held opponents to four shots on goal or fewer four times in 2023. UT has allowed four or fewer twice in its first three games in 2024, against IU Indy (3) and Northwestern (4).
• Senior McKenna Schultz has played all 270 minutes on the back line this season, and Sunday's effort also included freshman Abigail Marotta, who made her collegiate debut.

Fresh Faces in the Lineup

• Toledo has totaled 15 starts from five newcomers across its first three games. Freshmen Gabrielle Anulare and Cameron Cole along with transfers Tori Lyncha, Dalaney Ranallo and Agnes Stenlund each starting all three games this season.
• Stenlund has played all 270 minutes in net, while Ranallo (249), Lyncha (248) and Anulare (247) each rank top-five in minutes on the roster.
• Cole leads Toledo with seven shots on the season, putting two on goal.
• Anulare leads Toledo with two goals, scoring both against Cincinnati on Aug. 18. Her two goals thus far rank tied for fourth in the MAC.

Of Note

• The Rockets have won their last three games against Detroit Mercy by a combined margin of 13-1.
• Toledo is 1-1-2 against the Horizon League under Mark Batman. Friday will be the second of three matchups against the league in 2024, with a trip to Oakland set for Sept. 8.
• Senior Olivia Dault will mark her 60th game in a Rocket uniform with an appearance on Friday.
