TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo men's basketball head coach Tod Kowalczyk announced Wednesday that 6-foot-8, 195-pound forward Colin O'Rourke (Plainfield, Ill.) will transfer to the University of Toledo to join the Rockets' program next season. O'Rourke has played the last four seasons at NCAA Division II Wisconsin-Parkside, where he has received all-conference honors as a junior and senior. He will have one season of eligibility with Toledo.
"Colin is a very good addition to our program and comes highly recommended by two good friends of mine who coached against him," Kowalczyk said. "We wanted to get more skilled in the frontcourt and he helps us do that. Colin has had a lot of success at the Division II level similar to (former Rocket) JT Shumate and I have a lot of respect for Division II players. He is exactly what our program needs."
O'Rourke earned First-Team All-GLIAC honors after leading Wis.-Parkside with 17.5 ppg and 6.2 rpg and posting a 38.6 three-point FG% in league play. He tallied 20-point outings on eight occasions and scored a career-high 27 points vs. Davenport and Saginaw Valley State.
As a junior, O'Rourke received Second-Team All-GLIAC accolades after shooting 57.3% from the floor and 57.9% from three-point range and scoring 11.2 ppg in conference action. He was also named the 2021 GLIAC Freshman of the Year after averaging 8.7 ppg and 4.5 rpg with a 38.2 three-point FG%.
