Darius Alexander Voted Ironman of the Game Against Miami

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo football senior Darius Alexander was named the Week Six "Ironman of the Game," presented by Iron Workers Local Union No. 55 for his performance against Miami on Wednesday.

Alexander set three different career highs against the RedHawks. He put up seven total tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks on Saturday, adding a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry. He helped Toledo's defense to just 350 yards allowed and the Rockets did not allow a touchdown until late in the third quarter in their 30-20 victory.

The Fort Wayne, Ind. native was also recognized as the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Alexander was named via a fan vote on X/Twitter. Also considered in the poll was placekicker Dylan Cunanan, who was named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week, along with safety Maxen Hook and wide receiver Jerjuan Newton.

Toledo (4-1, 1-0 MAC) will play at Buffalo on Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon on ESPNU.
