Redshirt freshman Valeria Lizcano leads way with third-place showing

PORT CLINTON, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team and redshirt freshman Valeria Lizcano each finished in third place at the Rocket Classic on Tuesday at the Catawba Island Club. The Rockets shot a team score of 46-over par 910 and finished just four shots behind tournament champion Ohio and one behind runner-up Akron.

Lizcano (72-76-75=223) carded a three-over par 75 today to finish two shots behind Ohio's Mackenzie McRee (76-72-73=221). Central Michigan's Ella Zanatta finished second with a six-over par 222 (72-75-75).

Senior Yedam Lee paced the Rockets today with a two-over par 74 to finish in a 12^th-place tie at 12-over par 228 (77-77-74).

Rounding out the Rockets' lineup were freshman Brooklyn Millard (T-14^th/229), senior Kyleigh Dull (T-18^th/229) and freshman Emily Young (T-47^th/249).

Sophomore Mia Natividad competed as an individual and tied for 43^rd place with a 54-hole score of 248.

Toledo will be idle for nearly three weeks until returning to action at Dayton's Flyer Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 21-22.
