LOUDON, Tenn. – Three Rockets carded one-under par 69s to help the Toledo men's golf team close out the Visit Knoxville Collegiate with a strong finish on Sunday.  UT registered a one-under par 279 in today's final round at the par-70, 7,280-yard Tennessee National Golf Course to help it move up two spots in the team standings for a 10th-place finish.

"It was a Top-10 finish in a field that ultimately will have some pretty good teams in it," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "It was good to get some guys their first experience as a Rocket. We have little time to think about it and are instead looking forward to next week's tournament at VCU."

Senior Barend Botha topped the Rockets this weekend with a one-under par 209 (70-70-69) to finish in a 17th-place tie.  Senior Jamie Tofte Nielsen also carded a one-under par 69 today to tie for 37th place at six-over 216 (74-73-69). Sophomore Mads Jensen (82-71-69) played his final two rounds of the tourney at even-par, including a one-under par 69 today, to finish in a 60th-place tie with senior Palmer Yenrick (73-77-72) at 240.

Sophomore Bence Kotel rounded out the Rocket lineup in 80th place at 233 (76-82-75).

Junior CJ van Wyk competed as an individual and tied for 71st place at 16-over par 226 (69-79-78).

Host Tennessee led the 14-team field at 25-under par 815, one stroke ahead of second-place Ole Miss' 816.

Toledo is back in action next week when it travels to Richmond, Va. for the VCU Shootout on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 18-19.
