Dallas Gant Named to Lombardi Award Watch List

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior linebacker Dallas Gant was named to the Lombardi Award preseason watch list on Tuesday. The award goes annually to the college football offensive or defensive lineman or linebacker who exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach Vince Lombardi in addition to outstanding performance and ability. Semifinalists for the Lombardi Award will be announced on Nov. 1 with the winner announced on Dec. 6.

Gant was a First-Team All-MAC selection in 2022. He led the team with 116 tackles and ranked 10th in the MAC and 57th in the nation with 8.3 tackles/game. He is also on the Butkus Award (top linebacker) and Wuerffel Trophy (service) watch lists.

So far this season, a school-record eight Rockets have been named to 14 spots on preseason national award watch lists.
