Quinyon Mitchell has been named to the Fourth-Team Preseason All-America squad by Phil Steele, the publication announced this week. The Rockets also led the Mid-American Conference with 13 all-league preseason selections.
Joining Mitchell on the Phil Steele Preseason All-MAC First Team were junior offensive lineman
Nick Rosi, senior linebacker
Dallas Gant, junior safety
Maxen Hook and senior wide receiver
Adam Beale as a punt returner.
Toledo's four second-team preseason honorees were senior defensive tackle
Judge Culpepper, junior quarterback
Dequan Finn, junior offensive lineman
Tyler Long, and junior wide receiver
Jerjuan Newton. Senior safety
Nate Bauer, senior wide receiver
Devin Maddox, junior running back
Jacquez Stuart, and senior defensive lineman
Adrian Woliver were named to the third team.
The Rockets open their 2023 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Illinois with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on the Big Ten Network. Toledo's home opener is set for 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 vs. Texas Southern.
