TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior infielder Jeron Williams has been named to the ABCA NCAA Division I All-East Region Team by the American Baseball Coach Association (ABCA), the organization announced today.

Williams is now a candidate for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors which will announced on Friday, June 16 prior to the start of the 2023 NCAA Div. I College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

The 2023 MAC Player of the Year, Williams recently capped one of the best offensive seasons by a Rocket in program history. He started all 55 games at shortstop and hit .403 with 14 home runs, 48 RBIs, 67 runs scored, 16 doubles, four triples, a .681 slugging percentage, .467 on-base percentage, and an incredible 49 stolen bases. Following the conclusion of the regular season, Williams led all of NCAA Division I in hits and stolen bases; his 49 thefts were 10 more than the next-highest total. The Archbold, Ohio native shattered the single-season stolen base record and was one away from tying the MAC single-season record for stolen bases. Williams' 162 total bases accrued in 2023 are a new school record, and he is the first Rocket to hit .400 in a season since Maier, a former MLB First-Round Draft Pick, in 2003.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.

Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 40 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
