TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team will head to Columbus on Wednesday to face in-state foe Ohio State. First pitch at Bill Davis Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m. with streaming available on BTN+.
The Rockets (9-9, 3-3 MAC) will be looking to stop a four-game losing skid and most recently dropped all three games of a weekend series at preseason MAC favorite Ball State. Toledo entered last week having won seven of its previous eight games.

- Toledo is the top home run hitting team in the MAC and one of the best in the country, ranking atop the league and 29th in the nation with 32 home runs. UT hit four homers in Sunday's 13-inning contest at Ball State.
- Owen Jackson has eight home runs this season and is tied with Miami's Ryland Zaborowski for first place in the conference.
- The lightning to Jackson's thunder, Jeron Williams leads the MAC and ranks 18th in the country in with 13 stolen bases. The Archbold, Ohio native has five thefts in six MAC games.
- Williams has hit safely in every game this year and carries 26-game hitting streak into play on Wednesday dating back to last season.
- Toledo, Kent State, and Ball State are the only three teams in the MAC to rank among the top four in the league in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage.
- Noah Johnson has struck out at least six in each of his last four starts. His 31 punchouts are tied for seventh in the MAC.
Last Meeting with Ohio State
The Rockets will be looking to repeat last season's performance against the Buckeyes, a 7-6 win that was their first win over OSU since 1983.
In last year's meeting, Toledo was trailing 6-3 in the top of the sixth, before scoring four runs on three homers to take a 7-6 lead it would not relinquish.

Garret Pike slugged back-to-back home runs to tie the game at 6-6, then
Caden Konczak smacked a 2-0 pitch down the right field line that cleared the fence and put Toledo up by a run. It was just second game of Konczak's career and his first collegiate hit.
About Ohio State
The Buckeyes will host Wright State on Tuesday evening before welcoming the Rockets to Bill Davis Stadium. Ohio State owns am 11-6 record and has won seven straight games entering play Tuesday. As a team, OSU is hitting .291 and averaging 8.1 runs per game. Two players are hitting above .400 on the year, with Cole Andres (.436) and Matthew Graveline (.404) batting above that benchmark. The pitching staff sports a 5.04 team ERA and ranks second in the Big Ten in hits allowed per nine innings (7.8).

Following Wednesday's game at Ohio State, Toledo will host Akron in its first home games of the 2023 season this weekend. The Rockets and Zips will begin their three-game series on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
