VERO BEACH, Fla. – Senior Palmer Yenrick sits in first place after firing a pair of career-best seven-under par 65s on Sunday and the Toledo men's golf team is tied for first place at 28-under par after 36 holes at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational.

The Rockets shot a 12-under par 276 this morning and followed it up with a school-record tying 16-under par 272 in the afternoon. It is the second-straight year UT has shot that school-record total on the par-72, 7,350-yard Quail Valley Golf Club. Toledo set a 54-hole school record at Quail Valley last year with a 29-under par 835, a mark the Rockets have an opportunity to break in the final round tomorrow.

Toledo is tied with South Florida in the team standings, four strokes ahead of Indiana and 10 in front of Cincinnati. Yenrick holds a two-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard over USF's Jake Peacock (66-66=132) and is three in front of teammate Barend Botha (67-66=133).

Yenrick, who missed tying the 18-hole school record by a stroke, leads the field with 15 birdies and committed just one bogey over 36 holes. Botha registered 11 birdies and was bogey-free today.

"It's always nice to see hard work paid off in the form of good scores and Palmer is one of the hardest working guys around," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "It was a good start to the tournament for the team, and we're hoping for a solid team day again tomorrow."

Sophomore Mads Jensen is tied for 56th place at even-par after rebounding from a four-over 76 in the opening round with a four-under 68 this afternoon. Rounding out the Rockets' lineup are seniors NJ Botha (T-63rd/72-73=145) and Jamie Tofte Nielsen (T-66th/72-74=146).

Tomorrow's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.
