TOLEDO, Ohio – Freshman infielder Garret Pike was named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

Pike was terrific in Toledo's weekend series against Kent State, hitting .625 in four games. He had multiple hits in three out of four contests and reached base at least twice in all four games. He went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the series opener on Friday. On Saturday, Pike scored the game-winning run in UT's walk-off victory in the first game of the doubleheader, then drove in the game-winning run in the second walk-off victory of the day. Pike went 3-for-4 in game two with a pair of RBIs and scored twice. The freshman was excellent in the series finale as well, going 4-for-5 at the plate and scoring the go-ahead run in the seventh inning of Toledo's 5-4 win.

Pike has raised his batting average nearly 50 points in the month of April and is now hitting .344. The freshman is hitting .347 in MAC play while slugging .507 and getting on base at a .443 clip.

The Rockets host Eastern Michigan this weekend for a four-game series at Scott Park.
