Toledo Welcomes Ball State to Glass City

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will welcome Ball State to Scott Park for its next three games over the Easter holiday weekend. The Rockets will open the series with one game on Friday, April 15 followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, April 16.

Last Time Out
  • Toledo rallied with two runs in the sixth inning to bring it to within one run of No. 20 Ohio State, but could not push across the tying run in a 5-4 loss at Buckeye Field on Tuesday.
  • Freshman Sidney Griffith hit a two-run dinger, her first of the season, to bring the Rockets within one.
Milestone Watch
  • Senior Dayna Denner's first-inning homer in game two vs. Akron on Sunday tied the program record for career home runs with Kaitlyn Bergman (2015-19) at 24.
About Ball State
Ball State (13-22, 6-5 MAC) fell short in a non-conference matchup to IUPUI, 8-3, on Tuesday. The Cardinals scored the game's first three runs, but the Jaguars responded with eight unanswered runs to earn the victory. BSU's offense is led by MAC Co-Player of the Week honoree, senior Faith Hensley, with a .440 average and a team-high 15 home runs. In the circle, junior Deborah Jones has a 2.27 ERA in 49.1 innings pitched with 57 strikeouts.

  • Egg Hunt at Scott Park – Easter Egg hunt starting at 11:30 before Saturday's doubleheader; $1.00 admission for kids; Easter Bunny appearance.
On Deck
Toledo (8-26, 1-11 MAC) will pack up and head north to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to play a series vs. Central Michigan at Margo Jonker Stadium. The Rockets and Chippewas will play one game on Tuesday, April 19 followed by a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 20.
