TOLEDO, Ohio – Former Toledo football players Tycen Anderson, Luke Doerger, Bailey Flint, Vitaliy Gurman, Bryce Harris, Sean Mills, and Drew Rosi have all been named to the 2022 NFF Hampshire Honor Society.
The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions who have maintained a 3.2 grade point average throughout their college careers. Other qualifications include being a starter or significant contributor in one's senior season and meeting mandated progress toward graduation.
A two-time All-MAC honoree, Anderson played in 55 games in his career and tallied 237 tackles. He was a First-Team All-MAC selection this past season despite missing three games due to injury. Off the field, Anderson is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient and a four-time Academic All-MAC honoree. He earned his bachelor's degree in the fall of 2020 and is currently pursuing his MBA.
Doerger appeared in 38 games as an offensive lineman in his career and made 19 starts, splitting time at center and guard. He started every game in 2019 and 2020, helping offenses that ranked among the best in the MAC both seasons. Doerger was a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and he was nominated for the AFCA Allstate Good Works Team in 2020. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in the fall of 2020 and is currently pursuing his MBA.
Flint was the Rockets' punter for the bulk of his five-year career and was a two-time nominee for the Ray Guy Award as the nation's top punter. He averaged 40.3 yards per punt in his career and placed 83 kicks inside the 20-yard line. Flint, a three-time Academic All-MAC selection, earned his bachelor's degree in media communication and theater and is currently pursuing a master's degree in liberal studies with a focus in theater.
Gurman spent two seasons with the Rockets and was named Third-Team All-MAC in 2021 after starting every game on the offensive line, splitting time at left guard and left tackle. He also started all six games on the line in 2020 at left tackle. A 2021 Academic All-MAC honoree, Gurman is pursuing a master's degree in recreation and leisure studies.
Harris was a three-time All-MAC recipient, earning first-team distinctions in 2020 and 2021. Nobody has worn the Midnight Blue and Gold more times in their career than Harris, who set the all-time games played record (55) and games started record (50) in his career. The three-time team captain and three-time Academic All-MAC honoree graduated with his bachelor's degree in psychology in the spring of 2019 and is pursuing his master's degree in counselor education.
Mills played in 43 career games as Toledo's long snapper, twice being named to the Mannelly Award watch list as the nation's top player at that position. Mills was a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and is pursuing his MBA in finance after already graduating with his bachelor's degree in operations and supply chain management.
Rosi played in 52 games in his career at tight end, catching 49 passes for 648 yards and four touchdowns. He was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and a four-time Academic All-MAC recipient. Rosi is pursuing his MBA after previously graduating with his bachelor's degree in finance.
